WASP-professor Luc De Raedt has been awarded the EurAI Distinguished Service Award 2026 in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the artificial intelligence community through decades of scientific leadership and service.
The award highlights his long-standing efforts to advance AI research, shape scientific collaboration, and unite research communities across Europe and beyond. Over the years, De Raedt has played a key role in building and strengthening AI networks, including helping to establish the Benelux Association for Artificial Intelligence and promoting collaboration between European research communities.
Among his many contributions, De Raedt has coordinated numerous European research projects, events and conferences, served in a wide range of leadership and advisory roles, and contributed significantly to strengthening the international AI ecosystem.
The EurAI Distinguished Service Award recognises individuals who have had a lasting impact on AI through exceptional service to the research community. Luc De Raedt joins a distinguished group of previous recipients honoured for their contributions to the field.
