Postdoc position in the WASP NEST project 3D Scene Perception, Embeddings and Neural Rendering. The position is based at the Department of Mathematics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology,

Job description

The Department of Mathematics at KTH invites applications to a postdoctoral position supervised by Kathlén Kohn. The position focuses on research in applied algebraic geometry within machine learning and computer vision.

The position is financed by the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP).

The successful candidate will work on the multidisciplinary project 3D Scene Perception, Embeddings and Neural Rendering led by Fredrik Kahl (computer vision and image analysis at Chalmers), Kathlén Kohn (algebraic geometry at KTH), and Mårten Björkman (robotics, perception and learning at KTH).

The Department of Mathematics at KTH offers a high-class, active research environment within a broad spectrum of mathematical fields, including (applied) algebraic geometry, algebraic statistics, discrete geometry, combinatorics, algebraic topology, the mathematical foundations for data and AI, and mathematical statistics.

The position is a time-limited two-year position that may include up to 20% teaching responsibilities (the equivalent of approximately one masters-level course per year). The starting date will be an agreed upon date in 2024.
