PhD student position in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (RAI) (https://www.fieldrobotics.eu/) based at Department of Computer Science, Electrical and Space Engineering at Luleå University of Technology.
Subject description
Robotics and artificial intelligence aim to develop novel robotic systems that are characterized by advanced autonomy for improving the ability of robots to interact with the surrounding environment and humans during the execution of specific tasks.
Project description
The vision of RAI is aiming in closing the gap from theory to real life, while the team has a strong expertise in field robotics. As a PhD student you will have the opportunity to contribute within one or more of these focus areas, engaging in both theoretical and experimental research in:
Autonomy for modular and soft robotics
– Reconfigurable morphogenesis
– Autonomy for self-assembling robots
– Terrain-adaptive locomotion
– Embedded sensing and soft actuation
Human-robot interaction
– Human in-loop risk-aware navigation
– Dynamic task scheduling in shared workspaces
– Shared autonomy and predictive learning
– Human-robot teaming in distributed decision-making
Sensing and perception
– Collaborative perception and localization
– Perception in visually degraded dynamic environments
– Learning-based cognitive perception
– Semantic reasoning for natural environments
– Multi-sensor fusion
