PhD student position in Machine Learning within WASP Graduate School formally based at the Computer Vision Laboratory, Linköping University.

Your work assignments

The research focus for the advertised position is directed towards developing machine learning techniques for human motion and dynamics capture. Our aim is to reconstruct three-dimensional humans from images and analyze their motion in terms of quality, healthiness, and efficiency by employing and developing modern machine learning techniques in combination with physical simulations. The project involves both fundamental research on the development of new machine learning models and computational algorithms, as well as applied research to demonstrate the usefulness of the new methodologies.

Your workplace

The Computer Vision Laboratory (CVL) at the Department of Electrical Engineering is a vibrant research environment with five faculty members, five researchers, ten PhD students, and several affiliated researchers. CVL conducts research and education in machine learning for computer vision at the undergraduate, advanced, and PhD levels. The division has been identified as outstanding Swedish research environment within AI in Vinnova’s latest report. For further details, see https://liu.se/en/organisation/liu/isy/cvl.
