PhD student position in cloud and cyber security at the Department of Computer and Information Science at Linköping University.

Your work assignments

This project aims to address the emerging need for effective countermeasures to secure operational data streams as they are being delivered to the clouds, where such data is increasingly processed and stored. The project will develop and evaluate novel attacks and efficient countermeasures, placing particular focus on security-performance tradeoffs. The research will be conducted on the unique platform provided by WARA-Ops, using real-world operational datasets. The results are expected to help organizations better secure operational streaming data, minimizing financial losses, reputational damage, legal liabilities, and operational disruptions. You will work in a research team uniquely positioned to undertake this important research challenge, with the team possessing strong knowledge in traffic analysis of encrypted traffic, system performance, and security/privacy attacks using ML and their countermeasures.

As a PhD student, you devote most of your time to doctoral studies and the research projects of which you are part. Your work may also include teaching or other departmental duties, up to a maximum of 20% of full-time.
