WASP is now welcoming proposals to organize the Wallenberg Advanced Scientific Forum 2024, a meeting inspired by the successful Dagstuhl seminars.

  • The applicant (main organizer) should be a senior researcher within WASP who has a large international network among world-leading scientists.
  • The main organizer should have current funding from WASP (WASP Recruited Faculty, supervisor, project leader in ongoing WASP projects such as NESTs, DDLS, WISE etc.).
  • 2-4 researchers should be part of the organizing committee.
  • The members of the organizing committee should be carefully selected and should contribute to diversity among the participants.
  • The proposal should be submitted by the main organizer in agreement with the organizing committee.

Timeline

March 19: Deadline for applications
April 9: Decision communicated to applicants

Dates and Venue

The workshop should be maximum 4 days (3 nights) and include 40-45 participants. Rånäs Castle is pre-booked from September 30th-October 4th, 2024.

To facilitate international travel, we recommend the workshop to start with lunch on October 1st and end with lunch on October 4th. Rånäs Castle is located on the countryside with 45 min transportation time from Arlanda and 30 min from central Stockholm by car/taxi.

Budget

WASP will cover the costs for accommodation and full board meals. WASP will not cover costs for travel with the exception for a shuttle bus from Arlanda Airport to Rånäs Castle and return in alignment with the start of the first day and the end of the last day. Costs for individual taxi trips to Rånäs will not be covered by WASP. It is not possible to accommodate accompanying guests.
