The establishment of the WASP Research Arena AI Training and Inference Compute at Scale (WARA AI-TRICS) will bring researchers and industry into close collaboration, focusing on real‑world data, systems, and challenges where both advanced research and powerful computing capacity are required to drive progress.

Three key areas have been identified as particularly important:

  • AI foundation models for industry and society
  • AI at Scale, applying AI to massive industrial datasets
  • New methods, such as physics‑informed AI

New Swedish Large Language Model

In combination with the establishment of WARA AI-TRICS, the Swedish government together with Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation held a press conference to launch a new project to develop a new large language model for the Swedish language. An important goal is to create a model that not only speaks and writes Swedish but fully understands Swedish contexts – from government decisions to the education system. The work is being carried out with a clear commitment to safeguarding copyright.

The project is presently in its initial preparatory phase, during which some early interest has already been registered. Those who seek to record a possible interest in future involvement in the WARA AI‑TRICS or LLM project are invited to submit their information via the form below. Further communication will be provided when relevant opportunities emerge.
