WASP took part in Digitalize in Stockholm ’25 on 11 November at Münchenbryggeriet in Stockholm, an annual conference hosted by Digital Futures that brings together researchers, industry, policymakers and civil society around digital transformation.

This year’s theme, “AI EVERYWHERE – Exploring the Challenges, Risks, and Opportunities of Autonomous Systems,” focused on how autonomous AI agents are beginning to shape sectors such as healthcare, transport, education and construction, while also raising important questions around safety, human values and fundamental rights.

On stage, WASP Program Director Amy Loutfi joined Emma Strinning Stavrou (Xylem) and Karim Nouira (SICS.AI) in a session moderated by Robert Luciani, founder and CEO of Nerv Dynamics.

On stage, WASP Program Director Amy Loutfi joined Emma Strinning Stavrou (Xylem) and Karim Nouira (SICS.AI) in a session moderated by Robert Luciani, founder and CEO of Nerv Dynamics. Together, they discussed how Sweden can navigate the rapid development of autonomous systems in a responsible and competitive way.

WASP was also visible in the partner fair, where the booth was organized and staffed by WASP-funded PhD students from KTH Royal Institute of Technology.

“Digitalize in Stockholm showed how firmly WASP is now embedded in Stockholm’s tech scene,” said PhD student Stefan Stojanovic, who organized and coordinated the booth. “Personally, it was a pleasure to represent WASP and help highlight the breadth of research it enables.”

Digitalize in Stockholm served as KTH’s first Lighthouse event. The WASP Lighthouse initiative creates local spaces for WASP-related activities at each partner university, including events, seminars, thesis defenses and outreach, helping to connect national research initiatives with regional communities.
