To continue the support for the mathematical foundations of AI, the WASP board has decided to support four assistant professorships within the program on mathematics for artificial intelligence within the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP-AI/MATH). The following position refers to the assistant professorship at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
Assistant professor position within WASP-AI/MATH at KTH Royal Institute of Technology
The position concerns research and teaching within the subject area and related administrative duties. The employment is part of an initiative within the program on mathematics for artificial intelligence within the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software program (WASP-AI/MATH). The assistant professor is expected to lead a research group where two two-year postdoc positions and one Ph.D. student position initially will be funded by the WASP program. The holder of the position is expected to contribute to an active and creative research environment at the department and to the activities of the WASP program. Teaching duties will correspond to approximate 25% of a full-time volume, and includes basic courses in mathematics, advanced courses in the Master program specialization Mathematics of Data Science, and related PhD courses. This also includes supervision of thesis projects. The assistant professor is expected to be able to teach in Swedish within four years. If needed, a language support plan will be devised at the time of employment.
