To continue the support for the mathematical foundations of AI, the WASP board has decided to support four assistant professorships within the program on mathematics for artificial intelligence within the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP-AI/MATH). The following position refers to the assistant professorship at Uppsala University.
Assistant professor position within WASP-AI/MATH at Uppsala University
The subject area comprises mathematical analysis with a focus on Artificial Intelligence and deep learning. Relevant subareas include, for example, approximation theory, dynamical systems, ergodic theory, functional analysis, metric theory, harmonic analysis, optimal transport, and partial and stochastic differential equations. The employment is funded by the Wallenberg Autonomous Systems and Software Programs (WASP) initiative towards mathematics related to Artificial Intelligence (AI). The employment offers a unique career opportunity, with the intention that the successful candidate should be able to identify, develop and establish a long-term research agenda that contributes to the major challenges for Uppsala University and WASP in mathematics for AI. With the employment follows research resources that include funds for altogether four postdoctoral years, a doctoral student and project related costs up to 60 kSEK per year.
