Luleå University of Technology  is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (RAI) at the Department of Computer Science, Electrical and Space Engineering.

Position description

Robotics and artificial intelligence aim to develop novel robotic systems that are characterised by advanced autonomy for improving the ability of robots to interact with the surrounding environment and humans during the execution of specific tasks.

Characteristic research topics will focus on the following key areas

Collaborative intelligent Autonomy
– Predictive collaboration in shared workspaces
– Distributed task and motion planning
– LLMs and VLMs for high-level planning and sense awareness

Autonomy for modular and soft robotics
– Reconfigurable morphogenesis
– Self-assembling, terrain-adaptive locomotion
– Embedded sensing, soft actuation

Collaborative Sensing, perception and localization
– Perception-degraded resilience sensing
– Cognitive perception, semantic reasoning
