Linköping University and Sectra are seeking an Industrial PhD student specializing in AI in clinical workflows.
Position description
Sectra is one of the world’s leading providers of healthcare IT systems for diagnostic data. This industrial PhD student position is part of the Sectra Research Department, within a project focusing on precision medicine in breast cancer.
The potential of AI agents as members of medical teams is clear, but equally clear is that we still lack methods for AI-assisted expert teams that ensure both high productivity and robust quality in this high-stakes setting. New data science methods in AI-centered human-computer interaction are needed, where scientific expertise is matched with clinical prerequisites in an industrial context.
Your team and environment
The Research Department is responsible for developing knowledge, methods and prototypes to pave the way for product development. You will work in a team of scientists and closely collaborate with academic and healthcare professionals worldwide as well as with Sectra’s many domain experts.
The academic setting is with internationally leading groups at Linköping University, within the division of Media and Information Technology and the Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization. This industrial PhD project is part of the interdisciplinary WASP-DDLS NEST project AID4BC, targeting data-driven multimodal methods to enable true precision diagnostics throughout the breast cancer pathway. AID4BC includes four leading universities in Sweden and is likely the only constellation globally having access to large (>10,000 patients) matched multimodal data across radiology, pathology and molecular profiling and clinical data.
