WASP International Postdoctoral Scholarship 

The WASP Postdoctoral Scholarship admits a position at any leading university.

A WASP doctoral student who has completed his or her dissertation is entitled to apply for the two-year WASP Postdoctoral Scholarship, granted for postdoctoral studies at any leading university anywhere in the world.

The WASP Postdoctoral Scholarship is exclusively open for WASP PhD students and is announced once every year by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.

Call opens October 14

WASP, together with the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, invites applications for postdoctoral stipends. The two-year WASP scholarship is awarded for postdoctoral studies at leading universities worldwide. Read more on the call page.

You can apply for the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation’s regular postdoc scholarships, as well as for an exclusive scholarship for WASP doctoral students upon completion of their dissertation.

Positions at top universities

The WASP International Postdoctoral Scholarship offers positions at top universities globally. This scholarship adheres to the same criteria and conditions as other postdoc programs awarded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.

How to apply

  1. Before applying, you must obtain a letter of invitation from a world-leading hosting researcher in a WASP-related field. The hosting department shall also confirm that the position will be funded through a stipend.

  2. Prepare your application. Include the following
  • CV and research plan
  • Letter of invitation from host
  • Confirmation of stipend funding
  • Link to your Google Scholar profile
  • If applicable, note your participation in the WASP Graduate School and explain any missing credits

3. Choose the right portal

If applying to Stanford, MIT/Broad Institute, or NTU: use the specific application links provided on the call page.

For all other universities: use the general WASP International Postdoctoral Scholarship application form.

4. Submit by the deadline: Complete your application via Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation’s electronic system no later than November 14, 2025, at 13:00 CET.
