Welcome to Testa Center Demo Day 28 August 2025 in Uppsala, organized by Testa Center and Cytiva.

Register for the event

The purpose of the Demo Day is to:

  • Build knowledge and understanding about bioprocessing among AI researchers:
    • What is bioprocess?
    • What is the purpose of the different steps in a bioprocess (upstream/midstream/downstream)?
    • What data is generated when and why, and what is it used for?
    • How is the process monitored and regulated?
    • What are the major challenges in each step?
  • Generate ideas and research questions of industrial interest that can be explored using AI and machine learning in a collaborative research project as part of WARA Medicine.

During the day you will get:

  • theoretical introduction of bioprocessing and biological production from industry experts
  • real time, on-site, demonstration of a pilot scale biological production process using industrial manufacturing instruments in a bioprocessing lab of industry standard
  • possibility to discuss with and post questions to bioprocess specialists from Cytiva and Testa Center
  • multidisciplinary discussions and brainstorming

Preliminary agenda

08:30 – 10:00  Lecture: Introduction to bioprocess

10:00 – 12:00  Demonstration of Upstream process

12:00 – 13:00  Lunch

13:00 – 16:00 Demonstration of Midstream and Downstream process
